  11. SMERKO HAS BRUSSEL SPROUTS FOR BALLS 40

A lucky finale for sporadic punters XPA Team who beat a Spud's Ma splinter group in a close tie-break. Newcomers depletedmembers.com tried to oust the leaders in the final rounds but just weren't up to it! Still they got two carvery vouchers and £3 off drinks for their troubles.

  12. DAVID EARNS HIS BROWN WINGS FROM ELTON 36
  13. WE HAVE NONE 35

As a festive treat this quiz was devoted to the specialised subject of DRINKING, so it's fitting that our resident alkies were our Xmas champions! That's only their fourth win in four years!! The Spud's outnumbered Universally Challenged two-to-one taking a tie-break for second, with newcomers taking fourth and fifth and regulars Lucky Tatties finishing a poor seventh. I forgot to bring my bag of bonus Xmas goodies so you'll get them in the New Year.

  15. BEN IN THE BOX 31

The Dunderheids were leading all the way tonight but in the final round MMMMMM's entertainment knowledge proved too much for them! A terrible performance from Spud's, and worrying times for regular champions Universally Challenged as they slip from Ist to 2nd and now 3rd in three consecutive weeks!

Thursday 8 December...

  9. GUTTED I MISSED NEIL LENNON WITH MY SHARPENED 50P 42
  10. MY LITTLE BROTHER IS GAY 42
  11. JACKIE DAN 41

A great effort from mature ladies team Pat & Vina, highest scorers in tonight's specialist round on Cleaning & Hygeine! Google's poor finish shows that fiddling around with WAP phones for answers isn't the way forward; indeed, Spud's Ma (who have given up Googling en-masse) somehow managed to stave off Universally Challenged in a climactic tie-break for that coveted first position!

Thursday 1 December ...

  1. UNIVERSALLY CHALLENGED 50

  11. GOOGLE IS OUR 4TH PLAYER! 40
  12. BRING BACK THE DRINKS VOUCHERS 40
  13. TRUFFLES 39

Interesting result tonight with our favourites taking the lead for a second week in a row but two apparent newcomers fighting a tie-break for second and third. Looks like several of our lower-ranked regulars are fooling around with different names using expletives and questionable subject matter! We may have to introduce stringent censorship if this becomes a trend!

Thursday 24 November...

  1. UNIVERSALLY CHALLENGED 48
  2. YOUR ONLY G*Y IF YOU RECEIVE 41

  7. LUCKY TATTIES 29
  8. PINK LADIES 29
  9. SPUD'S MOTHER 28

Extreme weather didn't prevent our hardened regulars from competing in tonight's skirmish, but it was our (historically) top performing Universally Challenged who appeared out of hibernation and finished them off with an almost unprecedented 7-point lead (see 10 Nov). In a surprise result 'Bring Back The Drinks Vouchers' looked like making an easy second but faltered in the last round and then lost the tie-break. Our 2003 league champions the Shipombees made a rare appearance but showed none of their former glory.
